Sumbul Desai currently serves as Vice Chair of Strategy and Innovation in the Department of Medicine at Stanford Medicine, as well as, Associate Chief Medical Officer at Stanford Healthcare. In her current role she is responsible for strategic growth efforts and Innovation activities in the Department of Medicine. On the Stanford Healthcare side, Sumbul devised the product strategy, design and deployment of Stanford’s first digital/virtual primary care clinic ClickWell Care. Along with her work at the hospital, Sumbul is developing a research program that focuses on how to leverage technology to improve patient experience and use of technology in clinical practice.
