The mission of the Stanford Center for Clinical Research, SCCR includes offering educational resources, training, and support for investigators and research staff. We have invited Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine in Division of Nephrology at the Stanford University School of Medicine, Enrica Fung, MD, to provide you with the information on clinically relevant
parameters of kidney disease, common complications related to chronic kidney disease and their treatments.

At the conclusion of this class, you will be able to:

  • Understand the difference between acute and chronic kidney disease and a brief discussion on common causes of kidney disease
  • Discuss common symptoms and complications of chronic kidney disease, other organ systems that are affected, and their treatments
  • Reveal areas lacking research data in supporting daily clinical practice

 Attendance is open to all research staff.

About the Presenter:

Enrica Fung, MD, is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Nephrology at Stanford. She completed her bachelors and master’s in public health at Berkeley followed by her medical degree at UC Davis. After completing her nephrology fellowship at Stanford School of Medicine, Dr. Fung served as chief of nephrology and led the transplant referral and post-transplant program at Veterans Affairs Loma Linda Healthcare System before returning to
Stanford. She has been actively involved in several of the VA Cooperative Studies as well as epidemiological research related to chronic kidney disease.
