Speaker: Kiera Davis, MSCR, RN, BSN

The mission of the Stanford Center for Clinical Research (SCCR) includes offering educational resources, training, and support for investigators and research staff. SCCR’s Associate Director of Education and Training, Kiera Davis, MS, RN, BSN, will provide a presentation on speaking tips and strategies for successful presentations. The speaker will focus on adult learning styles, delivery skills, preparation, and the use of visual aids. This presentation is adapted from Paul Casella, a consultant in the Office of Faculty Affairs and Development at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. Paul Casella professional speaker, writer, editor, presentation skills coach and video producer.

By attending this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Review a variety of effective delivery skills
  • Tips to best prepare for your presentation

About the Speaker:

Kiera Davis, MSCR, RN, BSN is the Clinical Associate Director of Education and Training in the Stanford Center for Clinical Research (SCCR). She joined Stanford University in 2015 and has worked in clinical research for over 12 years at Stanford University and at the Duke Clinical Research Institute. Kiera obtained a BA in History from Boston University in 2006 followed by a BS in Nursing from Duke University. She worked as a Clinical Nurse II in the pediatric cardiac intensive care unit at Duke Hospital followed by two years as a travel nurse. She completed her Master of Science in Clinical Research from Campbell University in 2022.

Kiera is also the Program Lead of the Program Management Office (PMO), working closely with
the Senior Associate Dean of Research, the Research Office at TriValley, the Clinical Research
Quality Office and research study teams to support clinical research at TriValley.
