Duke University

Dr. Shah is an assistant professor in the Department of Medicine and the Duke Clinical Research Institute at Duke University. He also holds adjunct faculty positions at Duke-National University of Singapore and the Duke University Fuqua School of Business. In addition to his clinical responsibilities as a non-invasive cardiologist, he runs numerous research programs in the areas of health services research, clinical trials, and registry analyses. Dr. Shah has numerous publications in the areas of health care finance and delivery, cardiovascular outcomes, and quality assessment in cardiac care. He is the recipient of the 2009 Jeremiah Stamler Distinguished Young CV Investigators Research Award.

Event Information and Registration

The COVID-19 pandemic magnified existing disparities and highlighted chasms in our public health infrastructure. As we refocus on the future, challenging decisions lay ahead with respect to how to rebuild public health. This trans-disciplinary seminar will focus on what is needed to create a more robust and impactful public health system that has the ability to both respond in a crisis and address persistent inequities in health outcomes.
