Statement of Need

This course is designed for physicians preparing for the ABIM certification exam in Gastroenterology and Hepatology for both initial certification as well as those recertifying. In addition, this course will provide a comprehensive overview of the core basic concepts of gastroenterology and Hepatology needed for effective clinical practice.

Target Audience

This national program is designed for physicians, fellows, physician assistants, advance practice nurses, and nurses specializing in Gastroenterology and Hepatology.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  • Describe the pathophysiology and diagnosis of key diseases in gastroenterology and hepatology
  • Develop strategies to manage key diseases in gastroenterology and hepatology
  • Prepare for initial certification or recertification of the gastroenterology board exam with confidence in answering case-based questions
