Abstract:

Epic’s software is used by 100s of thousands of clinicians at 100s of health systems, including Stanford, to take care of more than 250 million patients. Elliot First will discuss how Epic solved the last mile problem to give front-line providers access to advanced machine learning models at the point of care and its impact on patient outcomes. Lessons learned from developing ML models for healthcare will also be shared such as the importance of integration into workflow and clinical process and building partnerships with clinical subject matter experts to drive effective change management.
