ABSTRACT:
The nature and pace of biomedical research has changed considerably over the years. In contrast, the traditional model of publishing the results of scientific research in the form of a paper has remained essentially unchanged. This talk will present a brief overview of alternative publication models and preliminary work on MachineProse, an ontological framework for maximizing the impact of nascent scientific knowledge. Examples of its applicability to reporting the results of molecular function studies and evidence based research will be presented. The talk will conclude with plausible approaches for supporting alternative publication models as knowledge templates within the CEDAR project.”
