Robert O. Bonow, MD is the Goldberg Distinguished Professor at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, where he is vice chairman of the Department of Medicine and director of the Center for Cardiovascular Innovation. From 1992 to 2011, he served as chief of the Division of Cardiology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. He received his MD degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Dr. Bonow is recognized for his research and teaching in a variety of cardiac diseases, including coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, and heart failure. He has authored or co-authored more than 460 published papers and 100 book chapters. He serves on the editorial boards of 10 medical journals, and is one of the four principal editors of Braunwald’s Heart Disease: A Textbook of Cardiovascular Medicine.
