Rebecca A. Aslakson, MD, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, in the Department of Oncology at the Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins, and in the Department of Health, Behavior & Society at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health; she is also a core faculty member of the Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality. Aslakson is a critical care anesthesiologist and palliative care physician and researcher, and all her research interests are in ways to improve delivery of palliative care, particularly to perioperative, critically ill, and vulnerable populations. She received her BS from Washington University in St. Louis, her MSci from the University of Ulster in Northern Ireland, her MD from Harvard Medical School, and her PhD from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
