Celebrating 40 years of serving the community, Pathways announces its 27th Annual One from the Heart Awards Breakfast to be held October 26, 2017 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Palo Alto.  This year’s awardee is Diana P. Russell, MSN, RN.

One from the Heart is Pathways’ signature fundraising and awards event. This year’s featured speaker is internationally acclaimed author, professor, and physician Abraham Verghese. Verghese is a recipient of the prestigious National Humanities Medal and author of three bestsellers, including Cutting for Stone, My Own Country, and The Tennis Partner. His highly anticipated upcoming novel is The Maramon Convention. Verghese is the Linda R. Meier and Joan F. Lane Provostial Professor at the Stanford University School of Medicine.

Pathways will honor Diana R. Russell, MSN, RN, former Chief Clinical Operations and Chief Nursing Officer at El Camino Hospital with its Leadership in Healthcare Award.  In addition to 30 years of service in nursing and nursing administration, Ms. Russell has served on numerous healthcare and community boards including 15 years on the Pathways Home Health and Hospice Board.

“Throughout her extensive career, Diana has improved care for thousands of people by providing effective nursing policies, procedures, and services,” said Pathways President of Philanthropy Sandra Coolidge. “We are proud to honor her lifelong passion and dedication to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.”
