The mission of the Stanford Center for Clinical Research (SCCR) includes offering educational resources, training, and support for investigators and research staff.  We have invited the Assistant Professor of Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, Dr. Fatima Rodriguez, MD, MPH to provide you with the comprehensive information on how social determinants of health influence cardiovascular disease prevention, and how structural racism is at the root of many persistent health disparities in the US.

At the conclusion of this class, you will be able to:

  • Understand how social determinants of health impact cardiovascular prevention
  • Identify structural racism as a barrier to achieving health equity
  • Address structural inequities in cardiovascular research and practice
  • Learn actionable ways to address disparities in cardiovascular research and practice, such as through increasing diversity within both clinical trial leaders, and clinical trial participants

Attendance is open to all research staff.
