The mission of the Stanford Center for Clinical Research (SCCR) includes offering educational resources, training, and support for investigators and research staff.  We have invited Clinical Assistant Professor in Medicine, Dr. Poonam Hosamani, MD, to provide you with a solid foundation in the fundamentals of the physical exam.

 

At the conclusion of this class, you will be able to:

  • Understand components of the physical exam
  • Explain common medical terms of the physical exam
  • Recognize physical exam medical acronyms

Attendance is open to all research staff

About the Instructor:

Dr. Poonam Hosamani, MD, obtained her Doctor of Medicine from the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University in 2009 and her BA in Biological Sciences also from Northwestern University in 2004. Dr. Hosamani completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the New York Presbyterian Hospital at Weill Cornell Medical Center.
Dr. Hosamani is currently working in the Division of Hospital Medicine and is serving as the co-director of Transition to Clerkships for second-year medical students preparing for their upcoming clerkships. She has been presented with a clinical educator award from the Society of General Internal Medicine.
