Dr. Kawut is a dynamic speaker and well-accomplished clinical researcher whose work focuses on pulmonary vascular diseases as well as lung transplantation. He is one of the most prolific clinical trials researchers in PAH and has lead multiple NIH-funded clinical trial RO1’s.  Moreover, he has collaborated directly with US-FDA to mine and publish meta-data from submitted industry-sponsored clinical trials.

Session Objectives:

  • To discuss the pathophysiologic and epidemiologic roles of sex in the development of pulmonary hypertension and right ventricular dysfunction
  • To present possible therapeutic strategies for pulmonary hypertension guided by endogenous sex hormone function
