On behalf of the Chi-Li Pao USA Foundation and Stanford Center for Asian Health Research and Education (CARE) we invite you to learn about research in Evidence Based Traditional Asian Medicine at our first Conference on Evidence Based Traditional Asian Medicine (ETAM) a virtual conference occurring March 4-6, 2021. 4:30pm – 7:30pm
With increasing interest in integrating healing traditions into the practice of medicine, we seek to share the best in evidence supporting the use of these longstanding traditions in promoting health. We seek to foster dialogue, learning, identify and prioritize areas of further research and development. The conference will consist of three days, each focused on these three areas of interest
Sessions are as follows:
Thursday, March 4th 4:30 -7:30pm – Nutrition for preventing and controlling chronic diseases
Friday, March 5th 4:30 -7:30pm – Pain management, particularly low back pain
Saturday, March 6th 4:30 -7:30pm – Mental health, especially depression
An exciting part of the conference will be a poster session, in which we will highlight some of the best research in the fields of Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). All submissions will be featured on the conference website for viewing and will be a forum to share ideas and connect with others who share interests.

Submission Criteria
- Submission Format: Research abstracts should be structured, at 500 words maximum. Abstracts should include the following: background, population, setting, funding source, innovation/methods, results, limitations, discussion. No charts or tables should be included in abstract submission.
- Presentation Format: Abstract competition finalists will present at virtual podium for 5-minutes (with slides), with 3-minutes of Q&A.
- Language: Abstract submitters must have excellent English language proficiency in case their project is chosen for Symposium presentation.
Finalists (podium presentation) and semi-finalists (featured posters) will be notified by February 1st, 2020. Questions may be directed to Shannon Judd, CARE Program Administrator, judds@stanford.edu
